Started in about 1850 by the Dutch Ref. Churches of N.Y.C. (hence, the name), this cemetery also "received" the remains of many earlier burials from neighboring cemeteries. Includes data from both the monuments and the burial records.

106.  BOOK OF BLACK BIRTH (BERGEN CO. 1804 - 1846), copied from public records by Ackerman Hawkey with a new introduction and indexes by Carolyn L. Barkley.
Beginning in 1804, a record of the births of the children of slaves was kept by the county clerk of each NJ county; for Bergen Co., this fascinating and little known record was copied by hand in 1923 and contains the dates of birth and registration and the names of the child, birth mother and slave owner.  Two separate indexes facilitates research.
